With impressive views across the vineyards under the stunning backdrop of Te Mata Peak, the accommodation is perfectly positioned to soak up the beautiful surroundings in a luxurious setting.   These retreats are all expertly designed with absolute comfort in mind.  


As you drive onto the property you will be immediately awe-struck by the immaculate setting and pristine grounds – this is a destination worth discovering!  I chose to stay in one of the River Lodges which are an ideal choice for two couples; featuring two master bedrooms, each with their own private ensuite the lodge provides the perfect space and privacy when travelling with another couple. 

Sitting down to a glass of wine, with views of the sun setting over the vines & Te Mata Peak was just spectacular.

Every detail has been thought of with nothing left to chance.  From the detail of your furnishings to the gourmet provisions provided for your included ‘in villa’ breakfast is pure quality. 


The Craggy Range Lodges & Cottages offer boutique accommodation, from the 1 bedroom cottages to the 4 bedroom luxury lodge which has its own private pool, large courtyard area and outside fireplace.


Upon arriving at our River Lodge, we were blown away by the stunning interior design which blends with the incredible surrounding. Offering magnificent views from every window, you will even find uninterrupted views from the baths in each ensuite.


With plenty of space both indoors and out, from the outdoor seating to the indoor living room with its soft lush furnishings, you are spoilt for choice of where to relax. Both will deliver outstanding views of the surrounding area, providing the perfect setting for an evening natter with a succulent glass of Craggy Range world class Gimblett Gravels Syrah – Pure Magic!


Included in your stay is your daily breakfast provisions delivered fresh to your lodge each day. Daily provisions include tasty, home made bread, cereals, marmalade, fresh coffee, yogurt and more; and for those in the Craggy Range Lodge and River Lodges in addition is a cooked breakfast provision.


To have breakfast supplied was a perfect touch, which allows you to wake up, relax and enjoy the delights of breakfast looking out to your beautiful surroundings from the privacy of your own lodge.

Craggy Range Lodge

The Lodge boasts open plan living across two sitting and dining areas, and a well-appointed chef’s kitchen. The formal living area offers views to the Peak with dining and sitting areas by an impressive open fire. Located on site and within walking distance to Craggy Range’s award winning restaurant, guests can stroll between the vines and across the manicured gardens to dine for lunch or dinner, or a chef can be arranged to come and cook in-house at the Lodge for guests.


River Lodges 

Two-bedroom self-contained luxury lodges, offering a private retreat overlooking the Tukituki River. The 165sqm lodges are the perfect space for smaller groups or couples looking for a luxury escape. With absolute comfort in mind, the property has a full chef’s kitchen, large dining area and lounge, as well as an outdoor dining area and courtyard with fireplace, providing multiple spaces to enjoy a glass of our Craggy Range Prestige Collection wine. The two master bedrooms each have an en-suite fitted with a rain shower and a bath with a view. The rooms also have their own dressing area and private terrace overlooking the pristine gardens and Tukituki River below.


Garden Cottages

Craggy Range’s self-contained Garden Cottages provide an upgraded cottage experience. With a footprint of 110sqm, the rooms have a spacious feel with finishes in line with the luxurious Craggy Range Lodges. Each of the two bedrooms has an east-facing private terrace, as well as an en-suite bathroom. The high spec kitchen offers the perfect space to dine in, while the Two-Hat Craggy Range Restaurant is a short stroll away. The living area is equipped with a wood fire and sweeping views of Te Mata Peak – the perfect spot to watch the sun set, while enjoying a bottle of complimentary Craggy Range wine.


Vineyard Cottages

Our River Lodge retreat was just a just a short walk from the vineyard's award-winning restaurant. eir own en-suites. All cottages have well-appointed kitchens and living areas, with free standing wood burners to keep you warm amongst the vines. Wheelchair access is available in one of the cottages.

Our River Lodge retreat was just a just a short walk from the vinyard's award-winning restaurant. ‘Winner of two hat's & the coveted title of Winery Restaurant of the Year at the 2020-2021 Cuisine Good Food Awards’ where we shared a long lunch of succulent dishes created with perfection and bursting with flavour.  Every plate was matched perfectly with a Craggy Range wine to expertly balancing the taste of every dish. 


An added feature of your stay is a tasting session with one of the dedicated sommeliers, who take you on a journey to learn the fascinating story of their wines and wine making philosophy at their great estates of Hawke’s Bay, Martinborough, and Marlborough. You will experience a range of different tastings offered to cater to every individual's taste. 


Consistently producing top quality wines that are recognised worldwide you are sure to purchase a bottle or more for your cellar collection.

What is the region renowned for?


If you can pull yourself away from the beautiful surroundings of the Craggy Range grounds, head out and discover why the region of Hawke’s Bay is world renowned for its food and wine as well as the many activities on offer.


It is the perfect destination to relax, unwind and dabble in outdoor pursuits, such as Cape Kidnappers with its world renowned golf course, hike to the top of Te Mata Peak (where you are rewarded with 360 degree views of Hawke’s Bay); or perhaps hire bikes and take to the cycle trails (over 200km of mostly limestone paths linking wineries and stunning countryside).


Not far from Craggy Range is the quaint township of Havelock North, which has a thriving cafe culture, with fabulous shopping offering everything from artisan food, stylish homeware to fashion boutiques. Add a short drive away to visit Napier to admire the beautifully restored Art Deco buildings.


Let's be honest. if you love wine, you are likely to partake in a winery tour and sample many of the region’s fine wines. Join a private tour, a small group or perhaps make your way on two wheels, hire and e-bike and enjoy one of the many winery cycle trails.
