Remotely positioned in a high alpine meadow at 3,000ft, surrounded by incredible mountain views, Minaret Station is an experience to inspire. Minaret Station Alpine Lodge is one of the most secluded and private luxury lodges in the world, with just four private chalets. Bordered by National Parks, mountains and Lake Wanaka, there are no roads at all leading to Minaret Station, so access is only possible by helicopter.
Stay
Guests are hosted exclusively, or as part of a group, in one of just four luxuriously appointed Chalets. The individual Chalets are separately positioned amongst native alpine grasses and herb fields, each harnessing unique vistas of the valley and surrounds. Each chalet offers privacy, warmth and the comfort of tasteful, high country design. They feature sheepskin carpets, king-sized beds, a dressing /sitting room, an en-suite bathroom and an adjoining private deck with sunken hot tub, where guests can relax and recline beneath the stars, in undisturbed privacy.
Central to the Alpine Lodge is the Mountain Kitchen. Linked to the chalets by a series of raised wooden boardwalks, the Mountain Kitchen features two separate living areas, wood-burning and open fires, a well-stocked library and cellar and first-class dining facilities.
Taste
Food is at the heart of your Minaret Station experience.
Minaret Station prides itself on knowing where all food is sourced and how it has been nurtured. Chefs use only the freshest local ingredients from Central Otago’s basin. In fact, the free range venison, Te Mana Lamb and Angus Beef used are all sourced from Minaret Station’s own 50,000 acre working farm. Seafood is fresh from Stewart Island, the West Coast and Fiordland. Beautiful produce is provided by the passionate local growers.
Food is paired with an extensive range of fine New Zealand wines from boutique winemakers who care as much about their wines as much as Minaret Station does about their food. The Central Otago region provides an oasis for distinctive seasonal produce. The region's cool winters and hot dry summers provide excellent growing conditions, allowing local suppliers to produce an abundance of delicious stone fruit and berries, Manuka honey and vegetables to enjoy.
Where you choose to dine at the Alpine Lodge is up to you. Perhaps with others in the Mountain Kitchen’s beautiful dining room, the library with the fire burning, alfresco on the deck, or in the privacy of your own chalet. The choice is yours.
