You can’t beat a good spa after a full on day in New Zealand’s adventure capital of Queenstown. Here are a selection of some of our favourite places to relax, be pampered, and rejuvenate after another thrilling day in the region.
‘The Spa’ at Millbrook Resort
A location close to Arrowtown, ‘The Spa’ at Millbrook offers luxurious spa treatments, five star service and an extensive range of body and beauty treatments. Tucked away in a beautifully located villa within the grounds of the Millbrook Resort, you will find a tranquil and relaxing spot to truly unwind. Come early and take advantage of the complimentary use of the services provided within the Health & Fitness Centre – plus if you have no transport from Queenstown there is also a complimentary shuttle service provided to spa guests. My favourite treatment is the Vichy Hydro Bliss – an incredible whole body water massage treatment.
‘Eforea’ – Spa at Hilton Queenstown
- The Eforea Spa at Hilton Queenstown provides a perfect escape overlooking the beautiful Lake Wakatipu. This is a place where you will want to spend some time. Easy access via jet from downtown Queenstown or a quick taxi ride and you are at the Kawarau Village. With a number of treatment rooms this is the perfect spot to come as a group and enjoy the facilities for longer, including an indoor pool, spa and sauna. My ‘go to’ package here is the ‘Ultimate Bliss’ for a full body overhaul. Do not forget to bring a change of clothes, and after your treatment head to the Hilton’s Wakatipu Grill to enjoy a local pinot in front of their outdoor fire.

Central Queenstown you will find the So Spa within the stunning Sofitel Queenstown. Grab your partner or friend and book the ‘couples’ suite for an afternoon of pampering in this award winning spa. This well appointment spa offers a wide range of treatments with both French & New Zealand products. My pick is their Signature treatments – both Rejuvenating Facial and Exhilarating Body Massages are worth a mention. Arrive early to have time to enjoy the Hamman steam bath, a Turkish bathhouse to release your toxins and alleviate stress – the perfect way to start your treatment!
Onsen Hot Pools
The ultimate in relaxation with a view that is so spectacular don’t forget to bring your camera for that famous Instagram shot! Situated at Arthurs Point between Queenstown and Arrowtown this tranquil escape located high on a cliff overlooking the Shotover River wins hands down for a ‘spa with a view’. While technically not a full service spa the hot and steamy hot pools will provide a luxury escape not matter the weather ! The must do package if you want more than a soak is the ‘Ultimate Relaxation Experience’ combining an hour long soak in the hot pools followed by an hour long massage’ Bliss!
