Kawau Island is just a one-hour drive from Auckland, The Beach House offers a private island escape. Nestled on the edge of stunning Vivian Bay, hear the calls of New Zealand’s native birds, Tui, fantails, wood pigeons and kingfishers, and as night falls, the sound of Morepork and Kiwi. The friendly Wekas will entertain as they forage near the beach.

Accommodating up to 19 guests in 9 rooms and suites, each with a private deck, including two bush cottages and three luxury beachfront suites. Imagine stepping out of your suite, onto the sandy beach and a few steps to the calm blue waters of Vivian Bay.

Dine on exquisite cuisine created by an international chef. The fully licensed restaurant and bar is the heart of The Beach House with sea views from every window. Or, choose to dine outdoors al-fresco. Lunches are served on the outdoor patios; maybe arrange a picnic hamper and lunch on the beach.

Watch the birds diving for fish, look for dolphins swimming in the bay. Take the SUP’s out onto the bay, swim and dive for shellfish. Go for a walk through native bush to simply just relax. Arrive by Seaplane from downtown Auckland or drive to the seaside village of Sandspit and take a ferry or water taxi to the island.
